Cleaning out Your Closet

February 02, 2023

Cleaning out your closet can help declutter your space, create room for new items, and provide the opportunity to sell or donate items that you no longer need. Here's how to get started:

Sort through your clothes: Take everything out of your closet and separate items into piles based on their current use or condition. Keep, donate, sell, and discard piles are common categories.

  • Evaluate each item: Ask yourself if you've worn the item in the last year, if it still fits, and if it's in good condition. If not, consider letting it go.
  • Clean and repair: Wash or dry clean clothes that need it and make any necessary repairs.
  • Consider consignment: If you have items in good condition, consider bringing them into Second Story.
  • Donate or dispose of items: Donate items in good condition to a local charity or thrift store. You can also bring your donations to Gee Loretta and we will pass them on to the Annex. They will help cloth women in need and feed the hungry in New Mexico.
  • Discard items that are beyond repair.

By following these steps, you can simplify your life, create more space in your closet, and potentially make some extra cash through consignment.
