Traveling Tips & Tricks

December 19, 2016

If you are like me, I always end up traveling around the Holidays! With the chaos of the season, I am always looking for shortcuts and ways to simplify my voyages!

The first thing I reach for is a simple slip-on shoe. My favorite ballet flats or a fashion sneaker make it easy to slide on and off as I go through security lines, plus they are comfortable! Comfort is always key when I am hopping on a plane.

Speaking of comfort- I despise being cold on an airplane! Brrr! I have been known to pack a blanket, but another easy option is to pack an oversized scarf. Not only will it keep you cozy while you jet-set, but it can double as a blanket, a sarong, or a beach blanket once you get to your destination!

Items that play “double duty” are also important when you are traveling. A tip I use, is to pack my toiletries and/or jewelry in an oversized clutch. The clutch can slide into my carry-on and then I can use it as my evening bag for dinners out.

The other trick I use, is to only pack one set of jewelry.  I always bring my Lawrence Baca because it looks great with casual or dressy clothing. I simplify my life by wearing the same earrings and necklace each day.

Last, but certainly not least, I always create a simple color pallet for my clothing. I decide on 3 colors (generally it is black, white and a pop of color) and make sure that everything that goes in the suitcase has those colors. This way I can easily create different looks because my wardrobe can mix and match!

I hope these tips help you with your travels and remember we are always here to help at Gee Loretta! Whether it is a gift for yourself or someone on your list, we have the store filled with lots of beautiful pieces that any gal would love!
